McGuireWoods LLP has an opening for a Litigation Project Assistant in Washington, DC. The project assistant provides support to paralegals and attorneys in the Government Investigations and White Collar Litigation group. Qualities possessed by an ideal candidate include up to two years of general/clerical legal experience in the litigation department of a law firm, an eye for detail and accuracy, and strong technical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes, labels and files electronic and hard copies of case materials as directed
  • Researches and retrieves documents from case management systems (CaseMap, FileSite, eRoom, Pacer, and Relativity) as requested
  • Maintains and organizes supplies to support client matters, including distribution of supplies and case files for special projects/events such as trial and on-site document reviews, collections and productions
  • Maintains and retrieves case files as requested and prepares closed matters for off-site storage
  • Assists with document collection and maintaining e-rooms
  • Processes production letters and other case correspondence and pleadings
  • Organizes document productions and prepares indices of document productions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of experience working in a law firm environment preferred; Requires high school diploma or equivalent with some college education preferred and one to two years law office clerical or general office experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent technical skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) is required
  • Familiarity with case management systems and/or E-Discovery platforms (CaseMap, FileSite, eRoom, Pacer, and Relativity) is strongly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate filing skills
