Overview

McGuireWoods LLP has an opening for a Litigation File Clerk in Baltimore. The file clerk provides support to paralegals and attorneys in the Business & Securities Litigation group. Qualities possessed by an ideal candidate include up to two years of general/clerical legal experience in the litigation department of a law firm, an eye for detail and accuracy, and strong technical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes, labels, files, and circulates electronic and hard copies of case materials as directed
  • Researches, retrieves, and uploads documents to/from case management systems (FileSite, eRoom, Pacer, and Relativity) as requested
  • Maintains and organizes supplies to support client matters, including distribution of supplies and case files for special projects/events such as trial and on-site document reviews, collections and productions
  • Maintains and retrieves case files as requested and prepares closed matters for off-site storage
  • Assists with document collection and maintaining e-rooms
  • Processes production letters and other case correspondence and pleadings
  • Organizes document productions and prepares indices of document

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of experience working in a law firm environment preferred; Requires high school diploma or equivalent with some college education preferred and one to two years law office clerical or general office experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent technical skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) is required
  • Familiarity with case management systems and/or E-Discovery platforms (FileSite, eRoom, Pacer, and Relativity) is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate filing skills
