McGuireWoods LLP has an opening for a Corporate Paralegal in our Public Finance group located in our Richmond, VA office. This team is fast-paced and deadline-driven, and the ideal candidate will be able to adapt quickly, feel comfortable interacting regularly with clients and other parties, and will have strong Microsoft Word skills. This position will be extremely rewarding for highly organized, detailed oriented and task driven individuals who like to work in an affable, team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare various documents/instruments: UCC forms/attachments, closing lists, corporate resolutions, officer certificates etc.
  • Participate in finance closings: create/update closing list, distribute documents/signature pages, and draft closing certificates
  • Order/review/chart lien searches, order business entity documents from public offices
  • Manage calendars, docket and tickler systems, and assists in meeting deadlines
  • File UCC and corporate/partnership organizational and other documents with state offices

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree with  2-4 years experience at a mid to large-size firm.
  • Paralegal certificate from ABA approved paralegal program a plus
  • Knowledge of and experience using MS Word, Outlook Calendar and Excel required
  • Knowledge of E-Rooms preferred
  • Experience working with public/private financing, closing procedures, and UCC (both preparation/filing of forms & lien searching) preferred
