    McGuireWoods has a need for a Writer – Marketing & Communications to join its Marketing & Business Development Team. The marketing writer must have significant skills drafting practice and matter descriptions, pitch-related executive summaries, and other differentiating, high-quality marketing content for varied audiences. He or she must be able to deliver targeted, business-oriented information to position the firm, departments and lawyers as leaders in specific industries and practices, always with the firm’s goals in mind. 


    This role can be located in one of the following markets: Chicago, Charlotte, Dallas, Richmond, Los Angeles, San Francisco.

    • Write and edit high-quality marketing copy such as practice and matter descriptions, pitch-related executive summaries, etc.
    • Draft messaging in various forms that build brand awareness and demonstrates/differentiates practice and industry experience. 
    • Demonstrate superior planning, organization and project management skills. 


    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or related field.
    • At least five years of experience with a strong focus on law and the legal industry; law firm experience/J.D. a plus.
    • Strong, fast and versatile writer skilled across print and digital platforms with excellent proofreading and editing skills and knowledge of AP style.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects with tight deadlines.
