    McGuireWoods LLP is looking for a Litigation Paralegal to join the team in our Raleigh office. The Paralegal is relied upon to help organize and summarize medical records & transcripts and assist with answering discovery. The ideal candidate will have at least two to three years of experience in civil litigation and familiarity with North Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure.

    Responsibilities

    • Performs basic factual research and investigation related to client matters and other due diligence as appropriate
    • Collects, organizes and maintains documents and files related to legal matters, including documents received from the client, opposing parties or other sources
    • Manages calendars, docket and tickler systems, and assists in meeting deadlines
    • Drafts routine correspondence and memoranda for attorneys as requested
    • Coordinates mailings, copying projects and filings, including electronic databases, where appropriate
    • Prepares and proofreads legal documents like form pleadings and discovery

    Qualifications

    • Four year degree preferred, or two to three years of civil litigation experience preferred
    • Paralegal Certification from an ABA accredited program preferred
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work well with colleagues and peers, and interact in a professional and courteous manner
