    McGuireWoods has an opportunity for a self-starting, enthusiastic individual to join its Marketing & Business Development team as a Business Development Coordinator, ideally located in Chicago, IL. The candidate most closely-aligned with the role will have experience supporting revenue-generating activities in a professional services environment, experience coordinating events from start to finish, a keen eye for detail, a highly professional and client service-oriented demeanor, and be able to work collaboratively with a remote team. The candidate will support events, marketing, and business development activities for practice areas, industry teams and client teams.

    Responsibilities

    • Serve as a primary point of contact on multi-day, multi-track conferences. Responsibilities include interfacing with speakers and sponsors, managing e-communication campaigns, maintaining accurate agendas, and working with managers, event planners, and marketing technology to ensure a successful outcome.
    • Conduct research, drafting, and positioning at the onset of new opportunities.
    • Input data and develop reports for experience collection and management.
    • Be the protagonist for lateral attorney onboarding activities.
    • Draft submissions for legal and industry-specific league tables and rankings.
    • Partner with research team to gather and synthesize information related to business development opportunities.
    • Serve as the point of contact for communications team on marketing collateral and business development materials.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of marketing and business development experience in a professional services firm.
    • Experience managing large events from start to finish.
    • Proven proactive approach to work assignments.
    • High attention to detail.
    • Professional demeanor, especially in high-pressure situations  
    • Client service mentality
    • Proven ability to handle multiple projects with competing deadlines in an efficient and productive manner.
    • Experience with proposals and RFPs.
