    McGuireWoods LLP has an opening for a Practice Administrative Assistant in our Pittsburgh office. This assistant will provide administrative support to Practice Assistants, Paralegals, and Attorneys as needed on a day-to-day basis or on special projects. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt quickly, have strong administrative and organizational skills, and be comfortable working with technology.


    • Filing of case documents, retrieving case files, and preparing files for closing in accordance with Records Department procedures.
    • Preparing material for overnight/mail service deliveries.
    • Maintain electronic and hard copy closing binders and amendment binders.
    • Arranging team conference calls as directed, make travel arrangements as needed.
    • Search, save and review Worksite electronic files for specific requests; circulate to appropriate parties per instructions.
    • Handling payment of matter related invoices and Attorney expense reports via ChromeRiver.
    • Exposure to client billing process.
    • Assist with requesting UCC searches and lien reports and UCC filings.
    • Performing other administrative tasks and special projects as requested (IE: entering Attorney’s time, maintain/organizing paper files, etc.)


    • Requires high school diploma or GED and a minimum of two years of experience working as an Administrative Assistant in a General Office environment.
    • Strong aptitude for technology and learning new systems
    • Excellent communication  and proofreading skills
    • Planning and strong organizational skills
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 2013 and/or current version and in the creation, assembly and/or manipulation of PDF files using Adobe Acrobat
