    McGuireWoods LLP has an opening for a Corporate Paralegal to join the Debt Finance practice in the Chicago, IL office. This team is fast-paced and deadline-driven, and the ideal candidate will be able to adapt quickly and will have a general understanding of corporate/transactional work in a large law firm.

    • Prepare closing documents for transactions
    • Participate in closings: create/update closing lists, distribute documents/signature pages, and draft closing certificates
    • Manage calendars, docket, and tickler systems, and assist in meeting deadlines
    • Manage and coordinate checklists for closings
    • Prepare closing binders with attention to collection/follow-up of routine post-closing items and matters


    • Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, or a bachelor’s degree in another field plus a paralegal certificate
    • 2 or more years of corporate experience (as a paralegal or reasonably equivalent position) at a mid to large-sized law firm
    • Knowledge of and experience using MS Word, Adobe, Outlook, and Excel required
    • Knowledge of UCC Article 9 preferred
    • Experience working with loan closing procedures preferred
