    McGuireWoods has an opening for a Transactional Case Assistant in the Richmond Office.  The case assistant will provide support to attorneys in the Mergers & Acquisitions/Corporate Transactions group and will be responsible for assisting attorneys execute, administer and close M&A and other corporate transactions. The ideal candidate will have 0-2 years of general/clerical experience, preferably in a legal environment, an eye for detail and accuracy, and strong organizational skills.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist with M&A closings, including preparing signature page packets and compiling execution versions of documents
    • Prepare and organize transaction closing binders
    • Prepare and organize transmittals of original documents to clients
    • Assist with post-closing due diligence
    • Assist with the preparation of initial M&A documents
    • Scan and save documents to the computer system using established naming protocols
    • Arrange courier pickup and delivery of documents for execution and for closings

    Qualifications

    • Requires zero to two years law office clerical or general office experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
    • Accurate filing skills, particularly with regard to document management
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) and Adobe Acrobat is required
    • Good planning and organizational skills
