Overview

McGuireWoods LLP has an opening for a Senior Business Development Coordinator to support the firm’s Commercial Litigation department. This position plays a key role in executing strategic marketing and business development initiatives focused on driving growth and visibility for one of the firms’ most dynamic legal service areas. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in legal marketing and business development within a law firm setting. This position is available in our New York, Washington DC, Tysons, Richmond, Charlotte, or Atlanta offices.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with practice group leaders and attorneys to implement business development initiatives and pursue strategic growth opportunities.
  • Lead the preparation of customized client pitches, RFP responses, and other client-facing materials.
  • Maintain practice-specific experience lists, matter highlights, and business development content.
  • Coordinate and support client events, sponsorships, webinars, and conference engagements.
  • Track and analyze market trends, competitor activity, and client developments to inform strategy.
  • Ensure timely updates to the firm’s website, marketing materials, and internal knowledge systems for the practice groups.
  • Partner with colleagues across the Marketing and BD department on firmwide initiatives. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing, communications, business, or related field.
  • At least 2-4 years of experience in legal marketing and/or business development; law firm experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the commercial litigation sector is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal services into compelling marketing content.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/marketing platforms such as DealCloud, InterAction, Salesforce, or Foundation.
