Overview

McGuireWoods is seeking a versatile Graphic Designer to join our in-house creative team and produce high-quality print and digital graphics that support the firm’s business development, marketing, public relations, project-specific, and internal communication initiatives. Reporting to the Design Manager, this role offers the opportunity to bring creative ideas to life while maintaining and advancing the firm’s brand identity. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, working closely with the marketing communications team to deliver impactful visuals. This position is available in our Richmond, Charlotte, Pittsburgh, Washington DC, and Chicago offices.

Responsibilities

  • Design and produce a wide range of materials including ads, brochures, presentations, invitations, newsletters, charts, maps, web graphics, and email campaigns.
  • Apply layout principles and design expertise to ensure all materials reflect brand standards and visual consistency.
  • Prepare files for print and digital production, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to pre-press requirements.
  • Partner with the Design Manager to anticipate and fulfill short- and long-term design needs for the firm.
  • Proofread and review all creative outputs for accuracy and brand alignment.
  • Collaborate with the marketing communications team and colleagues across departments to support firm-wide branding and design initiatives.
  • Assist with the production of electronic communications in partnership with the marketing technology team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of professional graphic design or desktop publishing experience, with emphasis on layout and design, in a corporate/professional services environment.
  •  Strong portfolio demonstrating creative execution across print and digital platforms.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects) and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word).
  • Knowledge of HTML and WordPress strongly preferred.
  • Copywriting experience highly desirable.
  • Exceptional creativity, attention to detail, and ability to balance multiple projects and priorities.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to work independently while building collaborative relationships across teams.
