Overview

McGuireWoods LLP is seeking a Law Student Recruiting Assistant to provide administrative support for the firm's law student recruiting programs across assigned offices. This role partners with recruiting managers, coordinators, attorneys, and candidates to coordinate key administrative processes throughout the recruiting lifecycle. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and enjoys working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Recruiting Administration

  • Maintain recruiting calendars, charts, spreadsheets, and departmental records.
  • Manage recruiting files, applicant tracking systems, and databases.
  • Prepare meeting materials, presentations, and correspondence.
  • Process invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments per departmental procedures. 

Law Student Recruiting Support

  • Support on-campus recruiting, summer associate interviews, receptions, networking events, and other activities.
  • Prepare recruiting correspondence, offer materials, and candidate communications.
  • Assist with interview schedules, travel arrangements, candidate evaluations, and reports.
  • Support the Summer Associate Program, including orientation, programming, evaluations, and events.
  • Assist with onboarding summer and incoming associates.
  • Contribute to data entry, reporting, and activity tracking. 

Operations & Collaboration

  • Communicate effectively with attorneys, candidates, law schools, vendors, and firm personnel while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Support special projects and recruiting initiatives as assigned.
  • Provide coverage for recruiting team members as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Two or more years of administrative experience preferred; entry-level candidates with relevant skills or internship experience are welcome to apply.

  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, applicant tracking systems, and willingness to adopt new technology platforms.
  • Interest in using innovative AI technology, including Harvey and Copilot, to support efficient high-impact work.
