McGuireWoods LLP is seeking a Paralegal to join our Public Finance practice in our Richmond office. This dynamic, deadline-driven team requires a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable engaging directly with clients and external parties on a regular basis. Responsibilities

  • Support all phases of public finance transactions, including managing deadlines, drafting, and coordinating transaction logistics
  • Manage multiple concurrent transactions at varying stages, from preliminary work through post-closing
  • Assemble closing packages, coordinate signature pages, and facilitate timely closings with clients and external parties
  • Compile closing binders and handle post-closing filings, including IRS submissions
  • Maintain deal calendars and docketing systems to track critical deadlines
  • Utilize deal management software, e-signature platforms, and AI tools to support workflow efficiency
  • Serve as a point of contact for attorneys, clients and third parties on transaction logistics

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of paralegal experience  
  • Demonstrated organizational, multi-tasking, and project management skills, with a proven ability to operate as a self-starter and exercise ownership over caseloads
  • Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills, with the confidence to actively interface and coordinate with court clerks, vendors, and other staff members
  • Experience working with public/private financing, closing procedures, and UCC (both preparation/filing of forms & lien searching) preferred.
  • Interest in using innovative AI technology, including Harvey and Copilot, to support efficient high-impact work.
